CHC33015 – Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)

Stride Learning’s CHC33015 – Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.

Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

This disability-related course has been developed in consultation with those who work in the industry.

Course Highlights

Upon successfully completing this nationally recognised qualification, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate improved workplace communication skills and provide person-centred support;
  • Identify safe work practices for direct client care; and
  • Understand day to day activities in healthy and community care industries.

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisites for this course. However, prior to enrolment, you will be required to provide your:

  • Working with children’s check clearance number;
  • National Police Check clearance certificate;
  • Unique Student Identifier;
  • Photo identification; and we will need to ensure that you
  • Meet the language, literacy and numeracy requirements.

Career Prospects

Successful completion of the CHC33015 – Cert III in Individual Support (Disability), may lead to employment opportunities, including:

  • Assistant in Nursing;
  • Home Care Assistant; or
  • Personal Care Worker.

Duration & Mode

This qualification can be completed in twelve months. The volume of learning offered by our organisation may vary per student depending on their existing skills and knowledge. More experienced students are likely to complete at the lower end of the volume and less experienced at the higher end.

On average students are required to study a minimum of 25 hours per week consisting of Online Assessments, Self-Directed Study and some Face to Face classes. Each student will be provided with a course delivery schedule including the location of Face to Face classes.

How will I be Assessed?

Because this is a nationally recognised qualification, you will need to be formally assessed. We use a range of assessment methods for this qualification, including:

  • Short answers;
  • Projects;
  • Activities; and
  • Workplace Observation or Observation in a Simulated Workplace.
Work Placement
  • The training program includes 120 – 150 hours of industry / work placement.
NSW Fees

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government.

  • Exemption: $0
  • Concession: $240
  • First Qualification: $1,450
  • Second Qualification: $1,750

This training is subsidised by the QLD Government. Student co-contribution fees are as follows:

  • Concession: $15 per qualification
  • Non-concession: $30 per qualification

Note: If you have completed your Year 12 in the past 12 months, and reside in QLD, you do not need to pay any fee at all when you enrol in a QLD government subsidised course.
